Jewish students: A blacklist of BDS supporters is hurting our efforts to defend Israel on campus

We are Jewish and pro-Israel students who are active within our Jewish communities on college campuses across North America. Many of us have helped organize against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions-affiliated movements throughout our time on campus.

Over the course of our time fighting BDS campaigns, Canary Mission was brought to our attention repeatedly. Canary Mission is an anonymous site that blacklists individuals and professors across the country for their support of the BDS movement, presumed anti-Semitic remarks and hateful rhetoric against Israel and the United States.

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman decries J Street’s motto as ‘blasphemous’

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The U.S. ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, decried the phrase “pro-Israel, pro-peace” — a motto closely associated with J Street — as “blasphemous.”

“Pro-Israel and pro-peace sounds like a completely reasonable position,” Friedman said Tuesday addressing the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. “My friends, it is not. Using that praise plainly implies that there are people who are pro-Israel and anti-peace.”

Friedman, formerly a lawyer for President Donald Trump, came under fire during his nomination process for having attacked liberal Jews, including his claim that J Street, the liberal…

Candidate for Congress claims his critics are ‘working for the Jewish media’

Jewish Democrats raise money using Trump’s Charlottesville remarks. Jewish Republicans call foul.

(JTA) — The Republican Jewish Coalition sent out a fundraising email this week accusing Jewish Democrats of unfairly linking the party to anti-Semites.

The pitch, with the subject line “Democrat anti-Semitism hypocrisy,” reads as follows:

Have you heard what Democrats are doing? Democrat groups are accusing Republicans of anti-Semitism in a hypocritical move to fundraise. Democrats are using the actions of a group of radicals who have no affiliation with the national Republican party to distract us from the blatant anti-semitism in their own ranks.

More on what the RJC means by “anti-Semitism in their own ranks”…
